Factory farming was developed in the 1920’s; soon after the discovery of vitamins A and D, these vitamins were added to the feed, eliminating the requirement for exercise and sunlight for growth. But what exactly is a factory farm? Factory farming is the dominate source of livestock food for the U. The government refers factory farming as; concentrated (or confined) animal feeding operations (CAFOs). So what are the conditions of these ‘concentrated animal feeding operations? These facilities house hundreds or thousands of cows, calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and other animals that live in extremely stressful conditions. They are confined in small cages, Jam packed in rooms with little to no room to move around or lay down comfortably. They are fed drugs to fatten them faster and keep them alive in conditions that could otherwise kill them. Genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) are used to make the animals grow faster or to produce much more milk or eggs than they naturally would. (Sorensen, 2009) When animals raised for food are large enough for the slaughter houses they are transported in crowded trucks with often no water or food. The animals that survive this grotesque trip are often slaughtered alive. Practices such as altering animals bodies are common in all factory farms, practices such as; debeaking, A process that nvolves cutting through bone, cartilage and soft tissue with a blade to remove the top half and the bottom third of a chicken’s, turkeys or ducks beak. This measure is taken to reduce the excessive feather pecking and cannibalism seen among stressed, overcrowded birds in factory farms (ASPCA). So why aren’t factory farms banned? There are many reasons as to why these facilities flourish in the United States and other countries. Factory farms are an efficient way to produce food for the large demand of meat, at a low cost. The large amount of Jobs it entails. They also ensure that huge cities will always have food. Factory farming has also promoted the development of vital amenities like good roads and hospitals among others (Harri). Corporations such as McDonalds and others alike are some of the largest consumers of the factory farming business. Without these farms it would be difficult, or impossible to provide chain restaurants with the amount of meat necessary in order to run efficiently. The people, we nourish this business by our desire for low priced food. Are these advantages actually positive or are we overlooking past the downsides? The number of factory farms in the U. S. s undefined, but according to the Factory FarmMap. org; in 2007 there were 571 ,210 livestock units in New Mexico. New Mexico nas extreme levels ot dairy tactory farms. One of them being along interstate 10 southeast of Las Cruces, there are 30, 000 dairy cows on 11 back to back dairy farms. How are factory farms dangerous? Factory farms pollute our land, air, and water by the extreme amount of waste generated by the vast amount of animals being raised in one place. Explore the dramatic impact of the tempest scen Essay You should consider the development of the character thorough action and dialogue; the use of stage space and other stage effects; and finally the likely effects upon a Jacobean audience and a modern one.  The Tempest was written in 1606-1611 and can be described as a late play or a tragicomedy. It is a play that looks at human emotions and characters that are put under pressure. The first scene is one, I think, of importance since it introduces the courtiers and show us their true characters. It is also exciting, which means that the audience will be interested from the moment the play starts. The Tempest was possibly one of the last plays Shakespeare wrote. By this time Shakespeare would have been famous throughout England and so there would have been much expectation surrounding the play. Therefore it was necessary that the first scene be one of great impact. In order to create a scene of dramatic effect that will make people interested in the play there must be a powerful image such as a storm, a tempest. However with limited resources Shakespeare had to make the scene authentic through the actors. The illusion of the ship can be made by the actors tone of voices, actions and movements. For example the dialogue in the first scene is mostly one of commotion and shouting such as all lost! To prayers, to prayers, all lost! We split, we split! Farewell, my wife and children! The Sea-Adventure was the flag ship but it became separated from the rest of the fleet when they encountered a storm. On board was Sir Thomas Gates, the leader of the expedition and 150 companions. They were driven onto the rocks of Bermuda, feared at the time as it is even now and called Devils Islands by sailors. By 1610 news had reached England that The Sea-Adventurer had been lost in the storm and so the conclusion was reached that they were killed in the squall. About a year later news returned to England that The Sea-Adventurer had arrived in Virginia. While they were in Bermuda the travellers had lived on fresh water and food. They had built two boats from the one flagship. I think the reason that he explains the account of his life before it is explained that the storm was made by his actions was because this makes us realise that it is not pure malevolence or simply for enjoyment but it is for the purpose of revenge. We realise that he is simply doing that which his adversaries did once to him. The fact that the storm was, in a sense an illusion makes us feel more awed by Prospero because the audience thinks that it is a real disaster that is involved in the story.  The first scene, as I said before, brings out the true natures of people and it seems to me to be an introduction to the characters. We see, through their actions and dialogue, what they are really like. I think that it is difficult to distinguish different roles and people, unless the character is obviously looks the part, which is why Shakespeare has done this. Crime can directly affect a person, place, or any witnesses of the said incident. Crime is defined as â€Å"conduct in violation of the criminal laws of the state, the federal government, or a local jurisdiction, for which there is no legally acceptable justification or excuse. † (Defining Crime, 2011) Crime is usually categorized as either a property or personal crime. Personal crimes include crimes of violence such as murder and robbery. With a personal crime you will have a perpetrator and a victim. Property crimes are just that, crimes against a piece of property where there is no use or threat of force against a person. The most common crime types are violent crimes, white collar and corporate crime, organized crime, and victimless crime. The first line of defense against crime lays with law enforcement personnel. Law enforcement is the first part of what makes up our criminal justice system. The criminal justice system has three main components including police, courts, and corrections. Police have an unending battle against crime, drugs, and other forms of social dysfunction. The police main duty is to protect the public; however the relationship between law enforcement and the public community is sometimes troubled. Some of the duties of law enforcement are to investigate law violations, gather evidence, make arrests, solve crimes, and then assist with the successful prosecution of suspects. Upon the law enforcement officer making an arrest the case is then presented to the court system. The district attorney office handles most cases of the criminal nature, besides some misdemeanor crimes such as minor traffic violations. Law enforcement usually develop a good working relationship with their local district attorney’s office which promotes quality officer related testimony and helps to lead to the successful prosecution of suspects. All suspects however are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Additionally, the accused have certain rights that must be adhered to. The include the right to speedy trial, the right to legal counsel, the right against self incrimination, the right not to be ried twice for the same crime, the right to know their charges, the right to have witnesses cross examined, and the right against excessive bail being placed. The court system is where an accused person is either convicted of the accused crime or found not guilty. There are many different levels of courts in the United States, but they all dispense justice and help en sure that officials in the justice system follow the law when conducting their duties. There are two types of courts that operate in our justice system including state courts and federal courts. Federal courts handle violations of federal law while state courts handle crimes against the state. The state has two different types of court proceedings, one being a trial court and the other an appellate court if an appeal is filed. The federal court system consists of United States district court, U. S. Court of Appeals, and the U. S. Supreme Court. The court system usually consists of a prosecuting attorney, a defense attorney, an unbiased judge, and occasionally a jury who renders a verdict for if a jury trial was elected. Upon a conviction in either the state or federal court system, the defendant is then processed into the corrections department of the criminal justice system. For federal crimes the convicted will be placed in a federal correctional institution and in state institutions for crimes against the state. Once a person has been arrested, tried, and sentenced, the correctional process begins. America’s correctional system includes jails, prisons, parole, probation and other forms of sentencing imposed. The corrections department is also responsible for the care and safety of the inmates that they house. Correctional officers are the correctional system’s front line. They are responsible for the supervision and safety of all housed inmates. This task can be very demanding and risky. Correctional officers have to deal first hand with violent offenders, some of whom are serving life sentences and do not worry about repercussions from an incident with a correctional officer. Upon completion of a sentence, an inmate is released back into society under the supervision of a parole officer. This officer is responsible for keeping track of the individual and ensuring compliance of any probation requirements. If an individual on probation violates any form of their parole it usually results with them being sent back to prison. This can prove to be a constant cycle with some individuals who can not adapt and conform to society. The criminal justice system is ultimately responsible for the prosecution and confinement of criminals, the upholding of state and federal laws, and the equal rights to accused suspects with a right to a fair trial. The system is responsible for the rehabilitation of convicted criminals and to reinsert them back into society when appropriate while monitoring their progress. For many, this cycle is constantly repeating itself and causing America’s justice system to become over populated and back logged resulting in the lack of appropriate case handling and prosecution of some individuals. Identification of predictors of patient satisfaction (what aspects of care matter the most to patients) enables policy makers at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait to focus on these aspects and improve them. The correlates of socio-demographic characteristics of patients with satisfaction allow the health care providers to cater to the different needs of patients based on their socio-demographic characteristics. This study aims at identifying predictors of patient satisfaction in the primary care clinics of the Ministry of Health, Kuwait (factors leading to patient satisfaction or dissatisfaction) and its socio-demographic correlates. 1.3 Problem Definition: Lack of proper strategies and support system by Ministry of Health (MOH). There are many obstacles interfering the treatment of patients in Kuwait due to poor system and insufficient management strategies that is related to health care services (Alduaij 2012). Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCC) which was built back in the 70s is considered as one of the important medical centers in Kuwait for the reason of increasing number of cancer patients in Kuwait (KCC 2014)[51]. KCC have a capacity of 459 beds against 28,697 patients with 1643 employeed,490 nursed, and 11 physicians. The study population consisted of the patients who came for therapy in KCCC ( outpatients) and the sample size consisted of 300 patients based on total cancer patients in Kuwait which are approximately 28,697 patients. The eligibility criteria included patients who have been diagnosed with different types of cancer as a minimum of 6 months ,above 21 years old and currently are undergoing treatment. The questionnaire contained a socio-demographic characteristics as well as the overall satisfaction with the different aspects of quality of services and quality of life. At last, The data analys is is obtained through using different statistical techniques by using the SPSS software version 17. 1.7 Thesis structure This thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, we will be providing a background and an overview of the selected research subject, followed by the problem area discussion and description of the thesis structure. In chapter two, an academic literature review related to patients satisfaction and the different independents variables such as physcian concern,staff concern, convenience of care process, tangibles, social well-being, emotional well-being, and information knowledge will be introduced based on theories, academic studies and reports. During his time as a chimney sweep, Tom loses his friend Jam, whom he always looked up to. Gems death was caused by a sudden chimney collapse, he never had a chance to fulfill his dream with Tom. Through his journey to New Holland, Tom suffers from the loss and separation of many friends and family. Tom grew very close to Rob and his father, as he helped with the growing of their crops and animals. Spending such time with Rob, Tom discovered that Robs dream was to be an architect. TO design and build his own constructions. In the boys spare time from tending their crops in the afternoon, they wander the land to find an Indian women. A sorrowful expression masking her face. The woman kept gesturing for the boys to come as she led them inland, sharing all the food she could gather She needs to give, thought Tom. He could see the pain in her eyes, the pain that was so familiar to himself. The many twists within the novel, constantly keeps the reader interested and encourages them to read on rather. The characters in this story are also very well portrayed. Tom is depicted as a very kind hearted and trustworthy friend. He has a brave, strong willed personality that supported him in the most difficult times. The main moral message conveyed in this novel is, that if you always remain positive and stay strong, youll be able to make it through any arduous situation. Tom Appleby, Convict Boy won the 2005 Childrens Book of the Year Award: Younger Readers. I would strongly recommend this novel for all ages to read.
